On December 2nd, we woke up to it not snowing anymore… we sure did get a lot though!
My better half has the Stout Mix Advent box, and his beer of the night is called Late Night Karate Kicks, which is a coffee stout. The smell of coffee and hints of chocolate is there. The flavor is amazing, too – no bitterness at all. Very smooth! This is an Ale with coffee added. It is produced and packaged by Charleville Vineyard Microbrewery in Ste. Genevieve, MO. This is 6.3% ABV. Definitely a favorite of ours now!
Mine is Dark Matter Porter, which is dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavors. It tastes like a black ale, but on the can says it is a brown porter. This does not have as strong of a coffee flavor that the Karate Kick one has. On the side, it does say Roasted Coffee Brownie, which made me think it’d be somewhat of a dessert, but it is not. Still drinkable though! This is 6.6% ABV and brewed by Logboat Brewing Company out of Columbia, MO. We probably wouldn’t buy this one if we saw it in the store, but was good to try!
Our shot of the night was another cream rum, but this one tasted like pumpkin pie in a shot! It is 16% ABV and is bottled by Minhas Micro Distillery out of Monroe, WI. On the bottle it says it is the finest Caribbean rum blended with real dairy cream, natural and artificial favlours, colored with caramel. If you are a pumpkin pie fan, this is definitely worth grabbing either a bottle of, or a little airplane bottle.

GetUpside – you may have heard of this one on the radio, but if you have a car and get gas often, check this one out. With living in the U.P. of Michigan, I didn’t think there would be a gas station that participated. It does! The money back fluctuates, but one day it was 20 cents per gallon it would give back. Since starting to use in June 2019, I’ve earned $10.50 so far. For signing up using my referral, you will get an extra 15 cents back per gallon. I will get $7 after you send a successful receipt. Their support team is also awesome if they are ever needed!
OnMyWay – please stop texting and driving, or looking at your phone. Need help? This app is what you need. You receive 5 cents for every mile driven where your phone is on the locked screen. You get rewarded for referrals, but can also accumulate $10,000 to receive $1,000 in your bank account. I’m already over $200.
Lucky Day – love scratch tickets? Check out this app. You have chances to win a monthly prize, daily, and get to scratch a lot of tickets off. With those tokens received, you will be able to redeem those for items as well as gift cards.
