You can use honey or maple syrup for this recipe. You can also switch out the kielbasa for any other type of meat, or even tofu. We served this with green beans and has become a staple in our household.
If you want leftovers, making this with the 3 cups of pasta will be perfect if it’s to feed 1-2 people. If feeding more, this will still be plenty, but you may not have leftovers. If you don’t want leftovers, adjust the recipe accordingly.
If you like thinner sauces, leave the flour out and minimize the amount of butter to 1 TBSP.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups pasta
- 1 package kielbasa or your choice of meat
- Olive Oil (to drizzle over the kielbasa to help brown)
- 1 TBSP minced garlic (you can use less if you’d prefer)
- 3 TBSP butter (1 TBSP per cup of pasta)
- 3 TBSP flour (1 TBSP per cup of pasta)
- 3/4 cup honey or maple syrup (1/4 cup per cup of pasta)
- 3/4 cup soy sauce (1/4 cup per cup of pasta)
- 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 cup chicken broth (1/2 cup per cup of pasta)
- 8-5 shakes of red pepper flakes (use more or less for your preference)
Directions:
- Fill a large pot with water to boil the noodles.
- Once the noodles are done, strain with a colander and set aside.
- Cut up the kielbasa and brown with olive oil. This can be done in the same pot the noodles were in.
- Add the noodles in the same pot the kielbasa is in. Heat can be kept on low at this point.
- Add butter and minced garlic to a separate saucepan on medium heat.

- Once the butter is melted, add the flour and whisk until you have a nice paste.

- Add the honey or maple syrup, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, chicken broth and red pepper flakes. Stir and turn the heat up just a bit. Eventually it will boil and thicken up nicely.

- Add the sauce to the noodles and kielbasa.

Serve and enjoy with your favorite vegetable. If you like more sauce with pasta, increase the amounts of the liquid ingredients. This is a recipe I have done some trial and error with, as the original recipe I found didn’t have flour or cornstarch as an ingredient. This made the sauce too runny for us, but the flavor was there.
