On the twelfth day of December, the next beer we tried was a porter and a Russian Imperial Stout.

My boyfriend opened the Deschutes Black Butte Porter and informed me he has had this beer several times before… oops!  Obviously he really likes it… brewed by Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon and at 5.2% ABV, this has rich notes of chocolate and coffee.

My beer was the Jolly Russian, which I had written about the other day when my boyfriend had that one.  This is definitely a favorite of mine… it’s very smooth and is an amazing sipper at 13% ABV.  If you ever see this one in the store, I’d definitely recommend buying some!  It will be well worth the price.  This is brewed by Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado.
