On the ninth day of December we opened another coffee porter and an imperial milk stout, creme brulee.
My boyfriend opened the Hotbox Coffee Porter brewed by Oskar Blues Brewery in Longmont, Colorado. This is a very smooth tasting coffee porter and at 6.5% ABV, it’d definitely be a beer that we would pick up at the store if we ran across it again.
The beer I opened was an Imperial Milk Stout, Creme Brulee, which is definitely a dessert beer. It is brewed with vanilla beans and as soon as you open this up, the smell of cake icing is what comes to mind. This is brewed by Southern Tier Brewing Company in Lakewood, New York. At 10% ABV, this is definitely a sipper, but very worth it. My boyfriend kept asking if he could take a sip of mine because it was so good. This is definitely on our list of a beer we’d pick up at the store when we run across it next!
