On the 7th day of December we opened our next beer and found it to be Option #2 and Cat Cafe.

For those of you that have followed this blog the past couple years since I started posting about the beer advent box, you probably notice a familiar beer shown.  I was introduced to Option #2 the first year of getting a beer advent box from The Craft Beer Cellar.  I thought it was pretty good, so I picked up a couple for my boyfriend and I to drink a couple years ago.  It is one of his favorites. 🙂  Mine?  Not so much anymore… I find it a bit hoppy, but my taste buds have most likely changed.

His beer for the 7th day is Option #2 and it was switched out when I noticed earlier in the day that it was going to be the cold brew coffee IPA I had the first day.  I do not go snooping each day to see what beer we are going to open – it was only when I noticed it was a can that I unwrapped the tissue paper to find it.  That is when I knew I had bought Option #2 for a reason… and glad it hadn’t been opened yet.  This is brewed by Rock Bridge Brewing Company in Columbia, Missouri.  It is at 9.2% ABV and is an imperial milk stout brewed with coffee beans.  If you want to try something new, this is definitely recommended and is a beer we will pick up if we see it in a store… my reason is more so for my boyfriend though, not me. 🙂

For my beer, if you look closely you’ll see an indention at the top of the can… that is because I had accidentally dropped that beer on the floor and it rolled around before I could grab it.  That happened the night my boyfriend had the beer… so I switched his out with mine so it wouldn’t be a mess when opened.  It’s a good one to drink as a milk stout with coffee added.  This is brewed by The Old Bakery Beer Company in Alton, Illinois.  At 5.5% ABV, I would give this one a thumbs up as it does drink smooth.
