Day 3 – Cat Cafe & Porter

On the 3rd day of December we opened our beer to drink and found that they are both from the same brewery… imagine that!  I did not do that on purpose though… it was OK since they weren’t the same beer!

My boyfriend had the Cat Cafe milk stout with coffee added.  This is made by the Old Bakery Beer Company in Alton, Illinois.  This is apparently part of their coffee series and is brewed with Kaldi’s Coffee, which is known in the St. Louis area.  At 5.5% ABV, it was stated that this beer is a lot better than the milk stout on the first day.  If we ran across this beer in a craft store, we would probably pick up a couple to have on hand to drink.

The porter beer from Old Bakery Beer Company in Alton, Illinois is the one I had for the night.   It states it is nutty and chocolatey.  The taste is not overpowering at all without any bitter tastes to it.  At 5.6% ABV, it ended up being a good beer to sip on while watching TV.

So far we have had different types of beer that have been OK so far!
