Wednesday, December 7th is here which marks the 7th beer to try in the Advent box… I believe I have found a pattern… Non-IPA, IPA, Non-IPA, IPA… because today is just that. When the tissue paper was unwrapped, and my prediction was true for the pattern, I sent a text to my sister saying I am not drinking it. She told me I had to because I bought it… which isn’t entirely true since I did not pick out IPAs. As she sent me the picture of her shot, I decided to give it a shot… if I don’t like it, there is stew meat to marinate with the beer.
This beer comes from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon. Alc. Volume is 6.4%. The profile on the side says “A juicy, citrus and grapefruit flavor profile. As if fresh Citra and Mosaic hops were squeezed straight into the bottle.” As someone that is NOT an IPA fan, this is drinkable… as with any beer, it is worth a try at least. As I told my sister though, I would not buy this as a beer to enjoy drinking.
As for my sister, she took a coffee liqueur shot this evening, which she did not think would be good as a shot, but said it was pretty good.
