Day 17 – Nitro Chai Milk Stout

On Thursday, December 17th, 2020, our beer of the night is another milk stout.  This one is brewed by Left Hand Brewing Company out of Longmont, Colorado.

When I first opened this one, I did tap on it, just in case… once I flipped that tab, I thought it was going to spurt out but it didn’t.  The taste of this one is very flat.. not sure if that is the intended taste of this one, but we were a bit disappointed.  The smell is different, too, which must be the chai.  This is one we would not buy if we saw it at the store… it was fun to try something different, but glad we are sharing this one. 🙂  I say take big sips – it goes down quicker. 😉  I would also have thought this would have been a higher ABV, but it is only 5% and is 22 IBU.  The ingredients are Rocky Mountain Water, Malted Barley, Lactose, Flakes Oats, Hops, Spices and Yeast.  The can says it is super smooth with aromatic spices… if you are a fan of chai, try this beer – you will probably love it!

Oliver was a great sport and took a picture with the beer tonight.  No, the can was NOT open yet – he was really just smelling the top.
