On Thursday, December 5, 2019, before we ate dinner we learned which beer we would each have, as well as the shot of the night. A coffee milk stout, another IPA and vodka.
From the stout box is the Steep Drop!, which is a nitro coffee milk stout. It is brewed with fair trade, small batch coffee. The smell is amazing – however, the taste is a bit flat. This is 5.2% ABV and is brewed by Boulevard Brewing Co. out of Kansas City, MO. Not a favorite of ours!
Now on to my not so favorite type of beer… another IPA. There was definitely hesitation with this one. A thought crossed my mind that I just write about how I set this one off to the side and chose another craft beer that is in our collection… that’s not how this works though. My better half helped to encourage me to just drink it. It’s like dish soap is in it when poured into a glass. This one is definitely a lot more drinkable and not as bitter as the unicorn ninja one! This is brewed by Krebs Brewing Company in Krebs, Oklahoma. On the can, it says “Made by people that truly care. From Oklahoma with love…” At 5.6% ABV, this is definitely more on the citrus side and IS drinkable to the person who does NOT like IPA’s. The front of the can is pretty cool, too… starts with How to Noodle.
Our shot of the night is plain vodka. This was NOT split into two shot glasses though since Josh and vodka do not mix well. It’s about how I’ll be with IPA’s after the end of the advent box. This is Titanium American Vodka and is distilled 10x (or so it says on the bottle!). It is 40% ABV. Since I am a fan of water and vodka with lemon and lime, that becomes my drink at the end of the night… and actually right before I put lemon and lime in the drink, I found that isn’t needed… maybe it’s the citrus from the IPA I’m still tasting?
