On December 15th, 2019, we went to run errands and then started to insulate the garage. Towards the end, Milo wanted to pose for some pictures in front of our beer and shot of the night.
Out of the stout advent box is the Chocolope Stout, which is brewed with chocolate by the Sweetwater Brewing Company out of Atlanta, GA. At. 6.4% ABV, this beer is OK – definitely different!
Out of the standard advent box is Delirium Noel, which is a Belgian-style ale, brewed and bottled by The Huyghe Brewery out of Melle/Ghent, Belgium. At 10% ABV, this is not only a cool looking bottle, but also a good sipper. If you are a Belgium Ale fan, definitely grab one of these next time you see it. For me, the foil did not come off as nice as I had wanted, as you can see in the picture below.
Here comes the shot of the night… when I saw 120 proof and 60% ABV, as well as the color green, I thought possibly a minty flavor, but may not try it since it was such a high ABV. When I showed it to Josh, he had heard of Absinthe and how the real stuff has hallucinogens in it. No way I thought, we are not trying this one then. So I searched, and here is a good article about it: http://minhasdistillery.com/Advent/Drinks/blumers-absinthe/ – interesting! Glad I didn’t have to take the full shot though and glad I also didn’t put something like this in my sister’s shot advent box back when she did this with me! Right after I took a sip, the sneezing started, and chills. I sometimes joke that something in the alcohol is what I’m allergic to… if you ever see an airplane shot of this, try it out and maybe split it amongst a group of friends instead of just two people. 🙂 Especially if you like black jelly beans, since that is somewhat of the taste of this.

Their support team is also awesome if they are ever needed!
